She also has found a new love of pulling up on things.  Jeremy promotes this all the time, but seriously…I don’t want her to be pulling up yet.  I see bumps and bruises in her future.

Now if only she would roll!  She used to roll, but she got lazy and gave up on that.  She can rock from side to side, but she will not roll completely.  Someday!

She is such an easy going baby.  She is happy all the time (unless she is tired…then watch out!) and so we had no clue she had an ear infection.  We only took her to the doctor for her pink eye.  The doctor asked “has she been more crabby lately…or pulling on her ear…or anything” and I said “nope…she only has really goopy eyes”, and the doctor said “surprise, she has an ear infection too”.  Fantastic.

So now she is happy…unless she is tired, or we are pinning all her appendages down and holding her head and prying her eye open to get some drops in there or shoving a medicine dropper down her throat trying to get her to swallow some antibiotics.  If Jeremy or I had an extra hand we would take a picture of how we look like a circus act.

We started with just oatmeal made with breastmilk so that it is really really runny.  Basically just a liquid with a little oatmeal.  She did not hate the taste but she did not love it.  After a few days of that we switched it up and gave her some squash.  She definitely liked this more, but she still is not very interested in eating.  I am going to send food with her to school this week and hopefully the teachers will have better luck than we have had or maybe Jenna will figure out what to do with her tongue.  I know it will come eventually so why not let them deal with the mess in the mean time

We even tried to let her feed herself.  She happily put the spoon in her mouth but then realized that we tricked her…not so happy then.

So we go in to drop off Jenna and he is being very helpful entertaining her and some of the other babies while I put her bottles in the fridge and her car seat in the corner.  And I tell Jaxson to give Jenna a hug and kiss so we can go.  He give her a kiss and off we leave.  We get outside her room and he looks at me and says “wait momma…I forgot to tell her something”.  So he goes back in, goes up to her and says “jenna, I will see you soon.  I love you”.  I seriously got a tear in my eyes.  He really does love her so much and it is so cute to see the love.  He makes me so proud.  He is an awesome big brother!

He is our first snowman of the year….

It was fun while it lasted!!!  Maybe we will get another snow fall that will hang around for more than 1 day.

This week has been a huge improvement on eating.  She has drank almost all of her bottles everyday.  I send her with 12 oz of milk and each day she has drank at least 10 oz.  Yay.  I knew she would realize that if she wanted to eat, she would need to drink bottles.  BUT sleeping has not been great.  At home she normally sleeps for an hour in the morning, 1.5 hours in the early afternoon and another hour in the late afternoon…but at school this week, each day she has taken 2 naps…30 mins each.  She is coming home exhausted.  She has these little bags under her eyes and while she is so excited to be home all she wants to do is go to bed.  So her bed time has been pushed up from 7pm to 630 on school nights.  And since she is so tired, she does not even make a peep after I lay her down in her crib.  She just passes out.  She wakes around 3am to eat and then is back to sleep until 7 or 730.   Daycare is wearing her out!  And I don’t think she really wants to wake up at 3…but I think she is hungry because she is not really eating as much at school as she would if she were home with me.

So everything is so far so good.  Jaxson loves having her at school with him, even though he never gets to see her because she is in the baby room, but he loves knowing that she is there.  And for Jenna, since she is still to young to really “get it” and since she has no sense of time yet…drop off is a breeze.  No tears.  Jeremy get the joy of picking her up…which is the best part because she is apparently super excited to see daddy and gives him all kinds of smiles and giggles.

Maybe when the separation anxiety sets in for Jenna, we will have to switch drop off and pick up roles so that I can get the smiles at pick up and Jeremy can get the tears at drop off.

If we have plans to go somewhere and I am getting things ready, like putting Jenna in her carseat, and I tell Jaxson to go potty, he starts to panic and begs…please don’t leave without me.  No idea why he think we are going to leave him.

Last nights episode was silly.   Jaxson and I ran to Target and when we were driving home it was dark outside.  It was only me and him in the car and he asked at least 5 times “momma….where are you?” and I said “I am driving the car”.  Not sure where he thought I was but apparently he could not see me in the front seat.

It is getting a little out of control.  I am hoping he quickly realizes that we are not going to leave him and that he can stop being so paranoid.

She, on the other hand,  was fine.  She did not eat all that great, but she napped well and did not cry.  And she was happy to see me when I went and got her

Hopefully tomorrow will be better (for me).

My parents have two slot machines in their basement and Jaxson LOVED playing them.  He even won the Jackpot twice.  Too bad it is not real money.
