This past friday my sister-in-law and I took all the kids to Old Mine Ranch. It is basically a hick petting zoo. But it was alot of fun and were the only ones there so we got the royal treatment.
Jaxson went on his first pony ride. He was freaked out at first but as the pony started to move he eventually started to have fun (fun might be an overstatement–he just stopped crying)
Then we headed over to feed the goats. The petting zoo guy brought out a huge bucket of feed and all the goats flocked to us. Some even climbed thru the fence to get closer to us. Good thing I am not scared of goats. There was an 8 day old goat who was so tiny and adorable. I kept chasing it and trying to feed it but he was not having it.
We got to see pigs

some birds (but I hate birds so i was pretty impressed with myself for even getting this close)

a llama

and ponies

We also got to go on a hayride around the farm and thru the woods. Jaxson was very confused by the hay. He kept picking up a piece, moving it aside and then picking up another. He was trying to clear the hay away from him but I don’t think he understood that it was gonna take all day and this was only a 15 minute hayride.

All in all it was a fantastic field trip. The kids had fun and that is the most important part.
