crawling no more and other updates

Well Jaxson has been making serious progress with walking in the past few weeks.  His number of steps he will take before falling is increasing everyday.  Today Jeremy called me to tell me that Jaxson walked all the way from the living room to the bathroom (where Jeremy was) without falling.  This involves alot of maneuving around furniture and actually turning a corner so I know that within a few weeks he will ready to run   He still does not know how to actually stand up with out pulling up on something so that might be a problem but I figure that will come in time. 

 

Other updates:

he has been really interested in kicking balls lately.  He will stand in front of a ball,  kick it and then chase after it and kick it.  If he falls in the process he just continues this game with his hands.   It looks so funny because he is just constantly chasing after a ball.  I hate to say it–but it is like a dog.  Makes us giggle. 

He loves to wave hello and goodbye to people.  He started this a month ago but never really perfected it until recently.  Before he would randomly wave to anything and everything but now he actually gets it.  He will wave to people who wave to him. 

Catch–he loves to play catch.  Well not so much catch as throw.  He will play “throw” with Jeremy forever.  He thinks it is the funniest thing when he throws a ball and daddy catches it and throws it back to him.  He will giggle the whole time.  He is actually really good at throwing.  He sometimes lets go of the ball too late and the ball goes straight into the ground and sometimes he forgets to let go of the ball at all but usually he is very good at throwing the ball forward.  He is definitely left handed for sure.  He will only throw with his left hand.  We have put the ball in his right hand many times and he just transfers it over to his left.  I need to get video of this. 

Jaxson does not understand the idea of clapping with his hands.  He just does not get it.  He will however hold a ball in each hand and bang the balls together.  But once you take the balls away, he has no interest in clapping.  So he clearly knows how to clap, he just does not want to. 

and I know that i have mentioned balls  in pretty much all of his updates.  that is because he loves balls!!!  They are his go-to toy.  He would hold a ball in each hand all day if he could.  He has mastered how to crawl holding a ball in each hand, he will take an entire bath with a ball in each hand he even will pull himself up on to furniture with a ball in each hand.  He is nuts.  Balls are like crack to him.  HE LOVES BALLS.  If he sees a ball out of the corner of his eye, he will stop, drop and crawl to go get it.  He will find balls that we thought were lost and if he is crying, a ball always makes him stop.  We have about 50 ball pit balls randomly thrown all over our house at any given moment and   we pick them up, and every morning Jaxson empties our ball bin. 

And Jaxson still does not know how to drink from a sippy cup!  Seriously kid–you are 10.5 months old.  get on it!  it is the same concept as a bottle.  I really dont understand!!!
